the only reason I'm here

I've worked on a very small fragment of it for a performance that was supposed to take place at STRP Festival, Eindhoven, on April 3rd 2020.

Since the COVID19 pandemic put a brake to all public events up until June 1st at least, the festival is obviously not happening.

I've been asked if I would have been willing to send the piece for a streaming show. I answered yes.

The piece is exactly the piece I wanted to perform, but also entirely different.

In the sci-fi dimension I've been building, the characters encounter some devices containing audiovisual memories from the past, from which they learn some relevant details about the reason of their mission; a mission they didn't even know they had signed up for and embarked on, but you know how it goes. You realise you're onto something only when you're exactly in the midst of it.

The specific text I was working on for STRP was not meant to be (on paper) allocated to the audiovisual memory archive, because the events narrated in it are basically..the mission that got triggered by the finding of the archive. 

Anyway....since the format of the piece will be a broadcast, I decided to apply to it the same (archaeo)logic..
